— coal processing — a hand holding a piece of coal (diamond), embraced by flame. The hand symbolizes the diligence and skill of the residents of the settlement of Vakhrushev, who contribute to the economic development of the country. Black color symbolizes the main wealth of the Sakhalin earth's interior — coal. Black is a symbol of wisdom and eternity. Yellow color (gold) in heraldry symbolizes wealth, justice, respect, and magnanimity. The flame in the coat of arms has a multifaceted meaning:
— fire obtained by burning coal, which gives heat and energy;
— rays of flame — rays of the sun, the sunrise of which the residents of the Sakhalin region meet first.
