Many of those who have a double chin would like it to disappear completely, but we can only help remove it from photos. Today, we will go through an example of how to remove a double chin in the image editing software Adobe Photoshop. All actions are performed in the Photoshop CC version.

So, we will need a photo of a person with a double chin. In our specific example, I took a picture of a smiling woman.

Create 2 duplicate layers using the keys Ctrl + J and go to the menu Filter-LiquifyFilter-Liquify.

Note: in the lesson on how to remove fat from the sides, we already discussed this filter and described the tools.

Select the area of the chin that we want to keep (i.e., the one that is NOT the double chin) using the Freeze Mask ToolFreeze Mask Tool.

Then, using the Forward Warp ToolDeformation, move the double chin so that it moves closer to our first chin.

Note: when selecting the chin, be careful—leave room for editing the second chin.

After you finish moving the double chin upward, you will notice that some artifacts remain, as it is extremely difficult to perform miracles with just one filter, and inconsistencies will be visible. To avoid this, you need to add realism.

To do this, go back to our file (click the OK button in the LiquifyLiquify filter) and reselect our chin, but this time include a bit of the second chin so that the connection between the two chins looks more natural.

Note: of course, select another layer (the original) or its duplicate, where the normal chin is located (both the first and the second).

Duplicate the selection by simply pressing the keys Ctrl + J.

Now move our new layer so that the chin is single and looks realistic.

As you can see, part of the second chin still remains, as we specifically selected it. Remove it using the eraser and blurred edges, or create a mask (as you prefer).

It should be noted that this is far from the most difficult way to remove a second chin, as there are much worse cases, or rather, types of chins.
