DCM Desktop Content Manager is a standalone component that allows you to edit Joomla articles from a separate Windows application. This way, you can fix any material without actually visiting the website itself.
This extension is a new way to edit content based on Joomla and K2, with the process taking place through a special application on your desktop. In addition, instead of the built-in editor, you can edit materials using a separate HTML editor or any other of your choice—options include WinWord, Livewriter, and Notepad++.
The component consists of two parts and is compatible with Joomla versions 2.5 and 3.1. It is installed on the Joomla site, and there is also a separate desktop application that retrieves the project content via web service, where you can manage your own content. The extension includes many features that will make content management much easier.
Note:
I managed to install this component and configure it for my Joomla 2.5 site, but for some reason, the display of materials and their editing is not entirely correct. Perhaps this component is not yet fully developed, but the idea is interesting—you can set a password to hand over site management to content managers.
