The first emblem of "Barcelona" played on the city's coat of arms and was used until 1910. The center of the composition was a golden diamond, divided into two parts. In two of them was placed the Catalan flag, in the other two - a scarlet cross on a white background. On the sides of the diamond there were two branches: laurel and palm. At the top was depicted a monarch's crown and a bat.

In 1910, the logo of "Barcelona" was introduced, which has survived to this day with minimal changes. Even then, the common heraldic shield, divided into four blocks, was definitively established. The Cross of Saint George, the flag of Catalonia, the abbreviated name of the team FCBFutbol Club Barcelona, the garnet-and-blue colors, and the football — all these elements in one form or another have remained on the "Barcelona" emblem throughout all times.

In 1920, designers slightly changed the shape of the shield and also added gold color to the central and lower segments of the emblem.

16 years later, the shield changed its shape again. The gold elements disappeared, and the background of the central ribbon became dark blue.

In 2002, FC Barcelona decided to slightly modernize the design of its logo. The dear version was handled by designer Claret Serrahima. He removed the dots from the abbreviation and simplified the outline. As a result of these minimal changes, a modern logo was created that preserved the club's long-standing traditions.
