Kinds of tripods – the pros and cons, the differences

In one of the previous lessons, we wrote about choosing a tripod and about what he needed first and foremost. Today we’ll talk about the design features of tripods and how to dispose of them before the purchase. So, we have several significant characteristics which will certainly need to use…
Design
What would you choose a tripod, each of them has such a tool as a tripod (the part of the structure responsible for support on the ground or another object) and tripod head fixing the camera on the tripod. The most important element of the tripod is, as you might guess, the head, as it is responsible for turning the camera, its stability, alignment horizontally and vertically, rotate, etc. the Cheaper models, unlike the professional, cannot boast of having many useful options and variety. For example, in more expensive models you can change the tripod head on the other, and also configure it properly. As for the “legs” of the tripod, they can be flexible or rigid and static – here the role the purpose of this tool.
Material
What manufactured product is always characterized by high price, and models of tripods made of plastic and metal, as well as more advanced materials – is no exception. Therefore, the choice is yours – either to purchase a quality product for good money, or a cheaper alternative for less money.
The most popular are cheap metal racks that dampen possible vibrations, but heavy and stable enough. Followed by aluminum model – lightweight and practical. There are the premium segment – carbon fibre tripods – they are perfectly cope with the task and durable. The only minus is, of course, the price of these tripods.
Plastic – it and in Africa plastic is cheap and short-lived. About the sustainability of this kind of material is difficult to say, because it itself is not practical, but affordable. If you plan to make high-quality frames – this option is not for you!
Height
The higher you can raise the tripod, the cost is more expensive having it (the price) is directly proportional to its quality. The best option is a tripod at a maximum height of approximately 15 centimeters below the photographer and down the Central stand. In this case, the photographer will be comfortable to look through the viewfinder without bending and standing with a straight back.
Almost all present now in the market modern tripod – telescopic (they put the knee inside the other). 3 sections – an almost perfect compromise between stability and fragility of this kind of the tripod.
Mount
As for tripod head, the following types: 3D, ball. In the first case, each clip is responsible for its own mode and direction, and the second camera is determined depending on the rotation joint, rotating the camera in the right direction.
For studios may appreciate a 3D head, because there are numerous number of clips, very accurately allowing you to mount the camera. In nature and in the rapid shooting more interesting option would be ball head – in this case, setting options is much faster, but their variability is not exhaustive.
Accessories
Accessories tripod include a special hook, hanging on which you can improve the stability of the tripod, and not to throw the bag separately. You can also call it the level with which you can adjust the horizon (useful for sunsets and sunrises), a more accurate position relative to the object. There is a rubber cap designed for indoor shooting, more stable attachments for different coatings, etc.
