Complete collection of TipiTip gum wrappers
One of the most popular chewing gums in the USSR in the 80-90s and later in the CIS countries was TipiTip. The gum was produced by Turkish company KENT Gida since 1974 mainly for the domestic market. However, it got to the Union in small quantities probably with “shuttles” and sailors of overseas voyages. It was sold in Luna-parks, “at gypsies”, at spontaneous bazaars, on trays, in commission and cooperative stores or “on hand”. The price of 1 rub.
Bright, colorful wrappers and inserts of this series are a collector’s item to this day. They were called Nosiki, Tipiki, Tipchiki, less frequently Tip-top, Nosy Guy, Dude with a nose. Wrappers of 4 colors: yellow, red, green and blue. Later ( from issue 871) came lettuce, lilac, pink and other colors. The inserts are numbered, which makes it easy to make collections.
The main character of the comic book insert (in Russian translation Tipiti, Tipitip) constantly gets into various funny, awkward situations and gets out of them (most often) by showing resourcefulness, ingenuity and sense of humor.
TipiTip wears large round glasses, a bow tie and a large round hat. Later, the tie became ordinary and the hat disappeared altogether. But the main feature of the character is his prominent nose. Tipitip has a wife Tipitosh, a son Tipikan, a daughter Tipichik and a dog Tipitop. They are also characters in many stories in the comic book series.
