The Moscow metro was opened for passengers in may 1935. From the beginning, its logo has not been rigidly standardized and over the years repeatedly subjected to spontaneous and uncontrolled transformations: changing form and proportions, acquired a contrast outline and a stroke in the form of a tunnel, deprived of serifs, highlighted in neon. Constant remained only one: the Moscow metro has always symbolized the red letter M.
